The city becomes a stage for observation, deduction and hands-on experiences. Jeonju’s representative quest, The Artisan’s Missing Seal, connects two clues to restore a seal and open another request. Site visits and discussions with operators will establish the observation points for the field version.
1. Keys to the City — the first expedition that opens the map
The full-season opening will reveal an undiscovered map of Jeonju and invite players to begin exploring.
Jeonju's three keys have been scattered. Find the keys of story, craft, and taste to open the city's gates. You can choose your first destination.
Players begin with the theme that interests them: Story, Craft or Taste.

Key of Craft

Key of Taste

A food collection fragment
Completing the first mission reveals a nearby map area and the next destination. Finishing all three routes earns Jeonju Season 1 completion and a city badge.
Solving a task at one place brings a first reward and a visible map change. Completing all three courses earns a city badge, linking small achievements to a larger goal. Core missions are designed for completion without a purchase.
2. The Artisan's Missing Seal — one place, different clues
The representative case is The Artisan’s Missing Seal — Two Faces Beneath the Stone. Observe the outlines and directions of the two animal sculptures supporting Gyeonggijeon’s Hamabi, then arrange them in a notebook while facing the inscription. The artisan, seal, notebook and letter are fictional; observed features and heritage explanations are kept distinct.
The artisan’s request Many read the words. Few notice the faces holding them up. I left their likenesses in a seal. The two faces left on paper must look just as you saw them.
After completing the observation record, test a candidate seal on paper. Its printing face must mirror the intended impression: both the order and the direction of each face reverse. Feedback distinguishes shape errors from mirror errors. Confirm the correct seal before receiving the first reward. Hints carry no penalty, and Korean and English use the same images.
Language changes preserve choices, hints, progress and rewards. Hints progress from where to look, to what to compare, to an explanation, with no penalty. Wrong-answer feedback acknowledges the matching element and points to the clue to recheck. Repeated completion awards no additional points.
Restoring the seal using both clues earns the first 100 points, First to Open the Door, and decoration on the Gyeonggijeon map. Use the seal on the letter to reveal the next objective at Pungnammun. Item use adds no points and keeps the seal in your record. A separate web demo shows the gate puzzle; the full follow-up request is a later expansion.

3. Hidden assignments and titles — the game recognizes how you explore
Open the letter with the restored seal to reveal The Artisan’s Gate Blueprint. Arrange the two stacked central roofs and low side roofs observed at Pungnammun, then apply the seal. Gyeonggijeon earns 100, Pungnammun 100, and the separate linked case L2 another 100: 300 in total. Visit in either order; each case is awarded only once.
Hidden request: The Artisan’s Eye The seal begins; the gate follows. Arrange the two clues in the notebook’s order.
Rewards lead to new stories, profile decorations, and choices for the next quest.

Published requirements give players clear goals for basic titles. Some secret titles in the full season will use short hints to encourage discovery. Fearless Adventurer recognizes participation in new experiences such as crafts, food culture and local interaction.
4. Later expansion: cooperative half-map quest
Two friends form an expedition pair and receive different clues at the same place.
Your map shows the symbols. Your partner's map shows the order in which to read them.
One screen shows a bird, a flower, and a moon; the other gives instructions such as “Moon first, bird last.” Players must explain their clues to each other to complete the answer.
Using both screens and on-site information creates a shared memory of playing together. Korean- and English-speaking players can cooperate through pictures and translated clues.
On completion, both profiles retain matching A Door Opened Together badges. Solo visitors receive a separate single-player puzzle that provides the same regional progress.
5. City artifacts — an item that points to the next journey
Completing the Jeonju courses earns the digital collectible Hanji Map Fragment.
A path you cannot yet read is drawn on this fragment. Find another fragment in the next city.
When other cities and counties are operating, players can combine their course rewards to unlock interregional expedition quests. Completing two cities earns Traveler Between Cities; completing designated Jeonbuk cities earns Jeonbuk Expedition.
Collectibles record completed journeys and point toward the next destination. Connections will begin with operating cities. Once accounts and synchronization are in place, returning international visitors and players changing devices will be able to continue their records on another trip.
6. Later expansion: a shared season event
Alongside individual missions, the game can offer a shared goal to which all players contribute.
Bring Jeonju's lost colors back Colors found by this season's explorers: 327 / 500
The progress figure above is an illustrative screen example. Each person contributes once by completing a designated mission. Reaching the shared goal unlocks a final story and a commemorative season badge for every participant.
Targets are set according to actual participation, and progress is displayed accurately. Corporate sponsorship can support completion souvenirs or optional benefits. Titles and regional completion records remain earned through play, regardless of purchases.
Phase 1 production scope
The first five weeks will produce and test an Android app prototype, a small batch of NFC tags and one representative quest. The full-season concept then expands to 10–15 Jeonju locations, three themes, nine required quests, three optional quests and six titles.
NFC entry → request → observe two clues → connect and solve → first reward and map change → use the seal on the letter → next objective and save
The representative quest is complete when players can move from the first tag through the reward and use of the seal. Field clues and cultural explanations will be developed from official sources, site visits and operator review.
Cases worth solving, clues worth keeping
Every clue has an earning condition, a use and a result. The seal earned by observing the Hamabi and restoring its impression opens a letter, then marks Pungnammun’s completed blueprint to reveal a new storage record. Opening the letter alone earns no points. Earlier place completions remain, but the new linked reward requires solving the roof puzzle and using the seal.
The five-location web demo offers motif deduction, piece selection, shape observation, ingredient matching and sequence puzzles. Players participate without a purchase or meal and earn 100 points for each location’s first completion. Course and city rewards belong to the full season of nine required and three optional quests.
Craft key — hanji materials and sequences
At a hanji workshop, observe the materials and connect the making sequence. This craft mission is separate from the Gyeonggijeon seal case, with pictures and short guidance for Korean and English players.
Taste key — ingredients discovered at the market
At Nambu Market, connect food and ingredients. In the Hyundaiok demo, solve the rice, sprout and chili sequence clue. No on-site purchase or meal is required.
